'67 vs.'71 spindles and wheel selection

I am converting my '67 stepside from front drum brakes (6-lug) to power disc brakes (5-lug) from a '71 setup. I need to find new wheels to match the wheels I have on the back. How will this change affect the backspacing of the new wheel I need to purchase relative to the backspacing of the old wheel to get the same look?

Thanks.

The standard back spacing on the 5 lug wheels is 4 -4.5" at least that is what I have seen on Rally Wheels. I have older aftermarket slots and they are back spaced 4.5". I don't know the back spacing on 6 lug wheels.

I'm just trying to find out the difference between the '67 and '71 spindles and how it will affect my wheels.

Where did you buy your slots?

the slots came with the truck I bought. They are US Indy Mags 15x8.5.

There are differences in the tierod ends.

Swapping to disc brakes in the front will increase width 1/2 to 3/4 per side. Like said above, a 4.5 backspace on an 8 inch wheel is perfect for a 5 lug truck.
