FNG from Kansas City saying "Hi!"

Hey, folks, pleased to have joined the ranks here! I recently purchased a 1972 Chevy shortbed 4x4, and couldn't be more excited about it!
My name is Mike, 27 years old. I'm a native Detroiter now living in the Kansas City area. I transferred here in 1999 with my job at "Generous" Motors where I am a maintenance electrician. I like to hunt and fish, and I love vintage pickups! (Although I admit I'm not real knowledgeable when it comes to working on vehicles, but hey, it's never too late to learn.)
Anyway, here's a shot of my recently-aquired '72:

Hey Mike, nice truck!! Check out my avatar!! We have the same truck, only mine has 34 year old paint on it. Not nearly as sharp as yours

Well, to be honest, the pic does my truck a lot more justice than it truly deserves. That paintjob was put on probably over 10 years ago, and it's already beginning to crack in some places. There's plenty of minor surface rust as well.
But yeah, it looks like we do have the same truck! Only I'm betting yours came from the factory with a SB, whereas mine has been cut down. (Although they did do a pretty good job of it.)

I've only been living in Independence since October of last year. Used to live just north of Parkville.
Anyway, where abouts in Independence are you? I'm over near the Center, west of 291 and south of 39th.

LOL, I think I know where that is! I drive through that area quite a bit, actually. If you ever see my truck, be sure and shout me a holler!
