Having issues

K30 rear axle, 4.56 gears, open
came from a one ton. It is the late model 14B, but the hubs mount behind the hub. Has the big brakes. It does not leak, brakes work, ring and pinion in good shape. 1350 yoke. 4.56 gears, open diff, 9/16" wheel studs, single wheel application. Looks like the WMS matches the front 60 I have on my blazer, or is pretty damn close anyways( its 67". Spring pad spacing matches that of my first gen blazer(half ton width)@ 40 inches on center. Axle is located in Eldorado CA, and local delivery to sac area avail. for gas kmoney. $200 as is, where is. shipping cost is one million dollars. payable in cash. Axle is lower one pictured.
  Needs hard brake lines, and ebrake cables. Needs shock mounts welded on as well. Housing has been cleaned up, if you like I can paint it. Last edited by masterbeavis; 07-26-2005 at 09:19 PM. |

Are you saying it`s the semi-floating rear?Is it the front one in the picture with the chrome wheel mounted?

Sway Bar?
I like the way that rear sway bar is mounted to that rear. Does anybody know if GM made one like that for a 73-87 14 bolt full floater??

The dana 60, and 70 have a similar style of mounting, except it clamps to the axle housing. THe housing has a half inch boss welded to it to prevent it from spinning. Could easily be adapted to a 14b with some ingenuity. THis is a dana 70.. If you look at the left hand tube, lower right, you will see something protrude. That is the boss.

could you measure the width between the holes in the arms that extend to the front of the truck? I need to know if this type sway bar can be fitted to my 72 2WD frame, or my 71 4x4 frame. Thanks, 72longbed |

For those of you who want to know... the Ford Dana 60/70 swaybar setup mounts to the axle tubes at 21.5" wide, and is 34.5" overall. The sterling is alot skinnier, (forgot to measure) but sits on the ends of the housing, so probably not very 14B freindly.
