Talking Decoding

Hey anyone with the ability to decode carbs and intakes im needing your help! Heres the carb number:

17080204

12679 CPM

and if its possible, the intake:

14014440

GM K8

These are the results that I found in my chevy v-8 casting number book. 17080204 decodes as a 4bbl, 1980 or 1981 with a 305 or 350. The applications listed are: Camaro, Corvette, Malibu, El Camino, and Monte Carlo. All used automatics with air conditioning. 14014440 wasn't listed in the book. The other codes i can't help you out with either, but i think the one on the carb is a date code.

Smile Carb Decode

My info sez:

170 - Rochester Product Division

80 - Production Year 1980

2 - 49 State Q-Jet

0 - Chevrolet Product Division

4 - Automatic Transmission
Even digit = Automatic
Odd digit = Manual

Hope this helps. I have no help with the intake number.

If you use the search engine googlegoogle and put you number in it will bring up some sites to check, if having a problem finding the number on the page select the edit function and chose find(on this page) and insert your text.

Thanks for the help guys. That gave me a general idea as to where this carb and intake came from. Im stepping up from a 2bbl to 4bbl. SO if anyone wants a 2bbl carb and intake, let me know and we'll do some talkin!
