Exclamation Tahoe 2nd Row Seats - Fair Warning

Not sure about all the years of Tahoe's but the 2003 2nd row seats
WILL NOT fit into a truck cab that has a high hump.

So if it's a 4x4 or a big block 2wd, don't try it - wont fit.
The high hump holds the legs up to high off the floor.

Just a heads up for those thinking about putting them in.

What about lift brackets or spacers of some sort?

I like the look of these when they are installed. Post pics when you get it done and progress pics.

Looked into that while the heavy beast was in the truck, yeah it would work if a guy/gal was only 5ft tall.
J/K - it puts the driver way to close to the roof, I'm only 5'-10" and my head was almost touching.
That was using two 2x4's stacked just to check all the possibility's.

What it amounts to is the high hump is in the way.

So I just installed the Tahoe front seats instead.
No shoulder straps, just the factory lap belts will be used.

I know but I was so bummed (other adjectives apply) that it wouldn't fit, I just pulled it out and walked away.

guys, I installed just today, a set of 2000 Silverado buckets with a 2004 center console from an F150........................they fit fantastic!!!! just make sure you use the proper plating underneath the truck. washers are not enough...in case of collision. the silverado buckets offer the integrated shoulder restraints are comfortable and there is about 15 inches of space for the center console to fit. The Ford F150 console fits perfectly (if you have the saddle tank removed in facor of a blazer tank, or if you have a blazer...).

Just a thought but if safefy is in mind these newer model GM buckets are awesome in these old trucks!

How easy is it to get into the back? Can you take some pics of the seat folded forward?

Sorry RED72blazer, already have another set in and mounted.

jcfoote60 is correct, they do fit good, they also work fine with the chevy center console as well.
jc - have you driven it yet with those installed?

So being this is a 'fair warning' thread, I'll add this...
The newer chevy buckets do fit great and offer a very comfy ride BUT they
take up alot of room, thing's are a little cramped now.
Taking out the gas tank will not make any difference either due to the headrest of the seat is against the rear glass as it sits against the tank.

Anybody over 5'-10" should do a test fit before laying out the cash.
Great seats but in my opinion, their better suited for a blazer or burb being you can get further back and recline more. (just took them out of my burb)

Best Compromise for Me

Ended up pulling the '03 seats.
On long drives the seating was just to tight/uncomfortable as it turns out.

Put some factory buckets back in and left the '03 console.

Lots of room now and the newer console fits/feels great as an armrest.

Course the tilt I added doesn't hurt any either.

I dont have any pics but a bench seat from an 89 F150 fit real nice. it has a fold down armrest with room for a Thermos. it fits nice against the factory tank with a little trimming to the latches. it is not over sized but supplies ample support & is comfy on road trips. I did have to graft my "pedastals" to the ford frame though. not a problem.
