Rear Window Swap

I have a slider rear window and want to put a solid one in. Is this hard to do or should I leave it to the pros? Anyone ever done this before?

should be the same as replacing a rear window. And I need to eventually do that.

Whatcha gonna do with the slider? I've got a solid one I'd like to replace with a slider. Wanna sell? I'd offer a swap, but I'd imagine you've already got your replacement, and my rear window is a mess.

It's pretty easy to do. Just get some small cord (I personally like parachute cord) made out of nylon or something similar. Basically small, strong and smooth. Put the seal on the window and then wrap the cord around the window in the channel of the seal. Have someone hold the window up to the cab and place a corner in and start the seal. While they hold pressure (the window to the cab) slowly start pulling the cord through from the inside. As you pull the cord it should fol the seal over the lip in the cab opening. Work your way around carefully. The hardest part is starting it and the last few inches. As far as removal, my best bet was always just to cut the seal because everytime I try and save one (which isn't too often) I end up lossing the window due to cracks or chips. Maybe someone can offer a good way to do this.

Im not to worried about cracks or chips because the slider has its own frame.
Do I have to remove the trim around the outside first? I was trying to pull it out first but wasn't haveing much luck. I was trying to be pretty gentle though.

I haven't done this, but I think I read that you do need to remove the trim first. Not much help. Sorry.

Do not try to remove trim first, you may ruin it. Work gasket loose from inside starting at top. New gasket best for install, put rubber on glass, put trim in rubber and install.

Dishwashing soap on the cord and rubber channel make the install go much easier. IMO it's easier if you end up in the center of the bottom of the gasket being the last area to go in.

Got the new one in today. I didnt remove the chrome tirm just ran the cord like it said. It wasn't to hard to get out but a bit of a pain to get back in. I did use the same gasket though

New window

And the old window out (if RedBeard still wants it)

The tint is turned purple and has a hole in the pass side
Thanks everyont for your help.
