Headers that fit

Post your header #s and pics here. Include primary tube size , collector size, flange type, what transmission your using. Maybe this can be moved to the FAQ section if enough of you respond.

TxFirefighter posted these part numbers - I got the coated set.

Part number SUM-G9006 for the normal ones
Part number SUM-G9006-9 for Jet Hot coated

He says:

If you decide to go Dynomax headers, order the Summit brand headers. They are reboxed Dynomax units. If you look close, you can make out the Dynomax part number stamped into them by the collector.
Stats:
full length, 1.5" tube, 3" collector, 5/16" 3 bolt flanges.

Header Thread

here's a terrible photo, but it shows them in a '67 2wd w/350 in V8 position. 700r4 tranny:

Chevelle 68600. Shortys 1 5/8" primarys 3" ball flange collector. Use "North West Auto Fab" motor mounts. They move the motor back closer to the firewall than the original 8 position. These would be used to get the exhaust tucked up into the frame rails. Like the ones offered by ECE and Sanderson. Only these have decent sized tubes.

I made my own flange so I could go 3" form the ball right into the bend. Just use a pair of old side cuttters and flare the pipe. Here are some pics I have on the computer.

No real "close up" pics, just check my sig for a link to lotsa pics, here's what I posted months ago, still valid now:

I ordered headers from Summit and they "nearly" fit, it was $125 to have the left one modified to complete the fit and for that price I wasn't going to bother with a return and trying a different header. I have (what I believe is) a stock 402 with A/C and automatic trans truck and I got the HED-69110 part number in case anyone is wondering what worked for me $135 + free shipping (mighta been a special?) and $125 to modify the left one slightly at the muffler shop was still an allright price for good headers.

You might have clearance problems with the 1 and 2 tubes hitting the motor mounts.. Buy em local so if they can not be made to fit you can return them easly. It's worth a try go for it.
