That article is from 1981.
Not to ruin the coolness of the post, but If people did this, you could say byebye to national forests and other timber areas. I bet the GOP and a few others would gladly allow tree harvesting to happen too. Ruin everything for us sportsmen.

They used that kind of set-up on civilian cars in Occupied France in WWII. Look closely in the film: "Is Paris Burning?" for instance. In the movies, they're always backfiring and not driving very fast at all.
Propane is a little less mickey mouse, IMHO.
