Need a towing receiver for my '69.
Unlike my screenname would suggest, my '69 is not quite ready for the task of towing. It is missing an important part; the receiver.
Who makes one for this thing? Anybody? I need at least a class III, prefer a class IV. Prefer bolt-in (obviously). All I ever see are receivers for the pickups of this era. Also, as far as towing harnesses go, these things are pre-plugin and I need to do some wiring. Who makes the best universal harness? I do want to set it up for 7-wire to run electric brakes. Thanks in advance for the help. |

I have heard of guys going to UHAUL and having a reciever installed. My '72 has a Valley brand hitch on it. You may try doing a search to see if anyone has any left over stock. I have also seen a few guys around here (Seattle area) with front and rear reciever hitches made by TORKLIFT (http://torklift.com/)

Yeah I saw it said that drilling is required. Not a bad idea to give them a shout first. Thanks!

I called and ordered it today. Apparently the gusset plates for the rear shackle hangers must be removed to install the hitch receiver, as they interfere. I was told that the receiver mounting plates serve as the gusset after installation. I will take some pictures and post up when I get it.

Any problems with the factory gas tank skid plate interfering with the hitch?
