I have me truck up and leveled side to side in eight locations and also front to back.Try not to envy the awesome driveway! It was a pain in the rear to level and plum this thing! I have removed the brake line, fuel line and driveshaft.I still need to jack up the cab. Other than that i am ready to cut the frame to shorten it. I am waiting for the local welder to get his arm out of a cast to come over. I dont think i am going to trust my welding on this one! Is there anything i am leaving out?

make sure you have tons of measurements.

How about those jack stands with the bricks on them? That would scare me. But then again I've had a vehicle come down on me before. Thank GOD for the spare tire I had under there. Only 1 cracked rib. Be Careful!

where are you checking to see if its level? i.e. top of frame, cab, floor?

I know the bricks look scary but this thing is very secure! The rear 4 did not need to be beefed up cause there is not that much weight there once it is cut loose.I will of course put some added insurance under this thing in case of it falling. I to have had jacks fail!

I am am checking the level on several places / front of frame behind bumper/ under frame below cab/ Top behind rear axle. As far as front to back i used a short level in about 15 differant spots.

The brick should hold up just fine. Just don't pound on it. I think it looks pretty good at this point. Are you going to strip & detail the frame? If so you should check out http://rustbullet.com for you're rustproofing paint. It's what I'll use if I ever get to the point you're at. I just want to do a frame off though, no chopping. The blazer is short enough already.

I am not ready to do a frame off yet. I am fixing to move so i do not want to have to pick up alot of peices! I will spray it down with some sealer/primer. Probably drive it a bit and fix it as i go!

wont it become unlevel as it begins to sink into the loose dirt under it?

If it does it will not be by much . There is actualy a thin layer of dirt covering the asphalt that is under. It has not moved yet.(knock on wood) I keep checking it. The welder keeps giving me the "one more week" routine. If he does not get here by monday i am going to borrow the neighbors cracker jack mig welder and start it myself!

I'm assuming you're going to chop a longbed down to make a shortbed?? If so, you may want to read this if you haven't already. I haven't personally done it yet, but I've read all about it, and I chopped down 67-72 long-fleet sides to make short-fleet sides. 12" in front of the wheels and 8" behind.
