Temp Sending Unit
I am trying to match my temp sending unit to the gauge. The gauge pegs and it is not boiling over so I installed a new one and it pegs the gauge. I soldered in a new larger wire (for less resistance) so I don't think the wire is the problem. How many sending unit options are there? Did the parts guy possibly sell me one for a newer truck?

Sounds like the sending unit or wire is shorted to chassis ground.

You got one for a Idiot light. Took three tries to get the right one. The one for the gauge is buried down further down in the listing.
