A/C Accumulator
What would be your guess on my problem that i have or is this normal. When i turn my a/c on the accumulator gets hot.I thought it is supposed to be cold.I just recharged my system r-12.This is on my 1969 chevy truck.

Assuming you have the stock A/C system your truck will have a drier instead of accumulater. The drier is on the high pressure side and will get hot. Accumulaters are used on later model A/C units and are on the low side and stay cool. John

Thanks John,
Yes i have the stock a/c.I was going through LMC book and they called it a accumulater. The drier has a glass site on top so you can see if you have freon flowing right. Joey |
