Did I damage my power steering?

Okay, so last week I "thought" I felt a slight vibration through the steering wheel. So I thought it was low power steering fluid...so in the garage(dark), I added more fluid but I couldn't see the black on black measuring stick, so I may have added way too much fluid.

Now (one week later) I see power steering fluid on the ground and it makes a slight "honking" sound(like a goose!) when I turn the wheel in the driveway. When I'm moving it's fine/no noise or anything.

Did I damage the unit by ading too much fluid?

Thanks,
