New guy with '69 K-5 CST

I aquired this Blazer a couple months ago and found this forum while searching the internet. I am in process of a full body off resto on it now. Here is a couple pics that I have taken. It is mostly stock now but will have quite a few mods when done.

Welcome to the board from the Pacific Northwest. Got any specs on the truck? There aren't many '69 Blazers out there - only 4,935 produced and I'm sure many have met their demise.

My '69 was originally a 307/3spd on the column/Dana 20 combo. A PO put in a 350/TH350/NP203 combo along with 4.10 gears and front disks.

Specs are as follows that I have. Option sheet inside glove box reads:

Model KE10514
tinted glass
door edge guards
non glare mirror
brake booster
power steering
coutesy light
auxilary top white
red paint (the orange red)
rear seat
bucket seats
removable hard top
front hub locks
4M49BC turbo hydramatic
wheel covers
radio-push button
ammeter-oil guage
custom sport truck
black vinyl trim

I have not found the build sheet yet and the seats have been recovered once 12 years ago. It also had factory cruise which I am guessing was dealer installed. The other interesting thing about this truck is that it was suppose to have been ordered by a GM rep and had front disc brakes from the factory which I know was not an option in '69. Other than the story being told to my buddy who I got the truck from, I have not been able to verify it.

Welcome again from the PACNORWEST. Those discs are a nice upgrade however they got in there. Mine still has manual drum all the way around. I'll tell you how they work if I ever get to drive it. Jeff.

Sounds like a nice foundation for your rebuild. Don't know about those disk brakes though. The knuckels on the '69s are closed and don't accept disc brakes. The discs weren't introduced until '71. If it is true, that truck could be a true rarity. Eitherway, the discs are nice.

Welcome from Nor Cal. I have a 69 cst also that i'm frame on restoring. Drums in front. I'm actually surprised how well the brakes work.
I just pulled off the cruise on mine last weekend since it was not dealer or factory. I knew this because the owner(original family) gave me the manual that came with it from Sears way back then.
As bouncy said, 69 is the rarest and first.
