I might buy a pair of axles and the rear has discs. He has some kind of hydrualic thing like a forklift to lock the brakes for an e-brake, anyone know if there is a way to hook up the foot pedal to lock these?

Sounds like your talking about a "line lock". Guy's use it for power braking but it's not recomended to be used as a e-brake. You need a mechanical way to set the rear brakes to have a e-brake you can trust. A hydraulic "line lock" will lose pressure over a extended period of time.

I've never seen a fork lift with a hyd. parking brake either.
You talking about a little arm sticking up behind the backing plate?
I don't think there was any factory style (let alone aftermarket conversions) that had a hyd set up.

I do want a mechanical way to lock the brakes but maybe with the auto tranny I won't need an e-brake. Anyway if I do get these I probably will go with drums since mine are all rebuilt and have good shoes still. Just so everything lines up.
