ok from seeing the thread about the dash pics, i have come up with a question...

What products do you all use to clean the haze off of the plastic fro the speedo and fuel gauge?

Windex is one of the worst to use on clear plastic.

It's to strong and ill cause the hazing.

Simple, a very small amount of soap and a little water will work fine....

unfortunately its not THAT easy hehe ..but it is easy. GO to a body shop or a buddy's house that details....use some MILD cutting polishing compound for paint. It will work just fine with a soft applicator and wipe it off with a soft t shirt or microfiber towel. It will look brand new.

I do this all the time on cars I detail.

yeah i was reading and found a product by meguires...called MEGUIARS PLASTX - Clear Plastic Cleaner & Polish.

im gonna try it and see how it goes...

Well, I always used Windex. I've used it since 95 when I got the truck. And grandpa always used it while he had it, since 81.

sand the plastic with 2000 grit sand paper then spray with automotive clear paint.The plastic well be crystal clear!!

I use 3-M Finessee-It buffing compound. I buy it to polish paint, which if you think about it--is basically a plastic / petroleum base also. It works great and it is easy to get at almost any automotive paint supplier. I also use something like a hand towel to get a good finish.

Bingo!! Just didnt want to tell everyone to go out and buy a 35 dollar bottle of polish hehe

That $35 dollar bottle of polish can be used on a lot of things, taillights, plastic headlights, bug deflectors, Paint (who;d a thunk it), and metal items. I use it very rigorously in my shop. I buy it by the gallon every year or so and polish my vehicles when some dip noid puts a scratch or rub mark in it. Believe me there are a lot of dip noids.
