Interesting truck and discussion.
As far as the paint, digital photos make even old paint look better that it really is. We may not be seeing all the little dings and such that are there. The sags seen in the door jamb could easily be from the factory. One would have to exam it closely in person to determine if it's had a repaint or not. My truck has many factory flaws in the original paint. The engine compartment looks nearly 100 percent correct to my eye. My 327 alt bracket and a few other 68 alt brackets I've seen are orange rather than the usual flat black. The plug wire lumis', air cleaner, heat riser and lifting rings are correct for a 68 327 auto. It also has the factory markings on the firewall. My engine compartment looks nearly identical except my 327 has a smog pump which is correct for a 68 with a manual transmission. As far as the surface rust underneath is concerned, it looks about like mine underneath. There was nothing but rudimentary paint under there to begin with so it aint going to be perfect. It could have had some touch-up paint done at one time but IMO that could be a very low mileage truck. Worth $12K? I think that's a little high for a truck that has so few options. I could see $8-$10K if you really want it and the paint is original.

PS, I'll check my vin rivets but off hand they look OK in that picture. The rear view mirror is obviously aftermarket. Inside rear view mirrors were an option in these trucks and this one didn't have one from the factory.
The interior looks pretty stock to me with the possible exception of the instrument bezel.

I agree with everyone on the repaint. It does appear to have been repainted. My truck had runs in the original paint but they were pretty much in places that were hidden. For example I had several runs behind the gas tank. I think the price is too high. IMO

Ok, so we have determined that the truck is NOT all original. IMO if someone is going to claim "all original" they better know first hand. To me, "all original", means its exactly the same as when it rolled off the assembly line. Repainted = NOT original, glued on mirror = not original. I just don't see how the paint can be that nice with the underside that crappy looking. With original paint that nice, the truck would have to be babied and hardly used in which case the underside should be nicer, not perfect, but nicer.

Rear suspension looks in bad shape, not according with 25k miles. For my point of view this truck worth no more than 6k

i have found there are 2 ways to buy trucks......1 brand new off the show room floor or with a tree growing up threw the bed....then either way u know exsactly what ur geting......

nice truck. If you want one already finished that is a fair price. you couldnt restore one to that condition for less.Yes it looks to be repainted.From the pics everything looks very good.engine compartment looks clean (stock) .Looking at the stove heat shield tells me that it may not have high miles , but that could be easily changed out.
probably a detailed truck by the dealer that is trying to sell it to you. Changed the windshield( 71-72) fresh paint,new dash pad, new seat cover.still a clean restoration.he shouldnt have tried to bullsh#t you. He could still sell it as a restoration
