woohoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i was putting a flexplate on my truck at a friends brothers shop today, anyways my old (305) engine is at it to, on an engine stand, i took a break in between puttin the flexplate on and called my mom and had her write down the numbers, like i said (my lil 305) turns out to to be a 350-#14010207,and the heads are 462624, do the heads flow better than the 882's, i wish i would have known this earlier, i spent about $1800 in a 350 i built during the past school year, and i still have to buy better heads, like i said about the numbers, that is according to www.mortec.com, also are there any other good sites for #'s

next time i go down there, i will get them, which, since i have a 350 will be a couple weeks, so i can refresh it, all i can say is stock rebuild , and a smaller cam than the one i built, maybe a 270 or a 280 comp magnum cam, or another lunati voodoo

The block casting you gave shows a 1980-1985 Corvette and the heads were used on 1979-1985 350 / 400 cu in motors . I will be able to tell you exactly what it came from when you post the engine stamping that is on the block . The heads should be 1.94 intake valve heads with 76 cc chambers . I do not know how they flow compared to 882's . Frank

This is all I could really find about the cylinder heads

http://www.hotrodders.com/forum/miss...ber-19935.html

270 and 280 Magnum are still pretty big that is where you need to start checking valve clearances and things like that running a 270 or bigger cam.

Corvette???? My pickup has the same casting number and is original to the truck. Those heads as far as valves go could be 2.02 int/1.6 ex, 1.94 int/1.5 ex, or 1.72 int/1.5 ex. Which actually wouldn't matter if a crack happens to appear in between them.

I already answered on the double post in the engine & drivetrain board.

I found the info I posted on this web page
http://www.chevy-camaro.com/chevy-ca...gine-codes.asp

It shows Corvette???? as a use for the block . The valve size I posted is what they show to have left the factory with . They dont show 1.72/1.5 as a factory offering so they probably arent 1.72's . The stamping is what I always use to determine exactly what it came from since many blocks were used in several different applications . I was just trying to give a little info on the subject . Didnt mean to step on any toes ! Frank

Those valve sizes I stated above, are factory sizes with the 624's. Unfortunately not all data references online are 100% correct. "Corvette" just makes it worth more. Anyway, you didn't step on anyone's toes.
