Question about door locks

Is there any way or anyone that makes a door latch assembly that doesnt unlock when you shut the door? I'd like to lock the door while getting out, shut the door and it remain locked.

Both my 71 and 72 do this... do the older models to this too?
It's a pain to have to turn around, find the door key and lock it each time I get out.

They were all like that, don't know of any way to 'fix' it.
It should be the same key as your ignition, so there should be no reason to search for the proper key.

Mine has the regular round door key and square igntion key. someones replaced the Lockcylinder and didnt 'key it.

I'm just lazy and want the door to stay locked if I lock it LOL.

Might have to install a keyless entry w/power locks I guess.

Think of it this way. No way you can lock yourself out.
