TBI fuel pump location and plumbing?
I am swapping an '89 TBI motor into my '72 C10 and wonder what fuel pump did you use, where you mounted it, and what did you use for the fuel lines to the throttle body? I still have my tank behind the seat and it has 3 different size lines that come through the floor.
I have a TBI wiring harness and custom chip picked out for $360. The harness only needs 3 wires (power, ground, and ignition) and the chip has some "performance upgrades" and will make the computer work fine without the VSS since I plan to use my TH350 transmission. I am open to suggestions if anyone knows of a better deal on a harness and chip. |

I've looked into TBI for my 454, I found some possible fuel pump options from affordable-fuel-injection.com. Where did you price the harness and chip?? That sounds like an ok deal....

I have a 95 Motor in mine, but I am going carburated. But as you know there is no place for a mechinical pump. I mounted mine on the frame right beside where the fuel first meets the frame.

I am running a TBI with my Megasquirted 402. I used a frame mounted Ford van/truck external pump and accumulator w/filter and switchover valve. It works just dandy. No need for an in tank pump. Just a return line. Use the sender unit from a '72 w/auto trans sender unit (has fuel vapor line) or put a return line in your existing one.

use a stock tank from a 86-91 suburban or blazer mounted under the bed. it has the pump in it i think. remove your in cab tank, and replace with 2 12" subs and shave the the gas filler. just my two cents.

I thought about this and it may still be an option if I can find a tank in good condition and cheap enough. The truck is just going to be an old trail beater, so no subs are needed.
