Console advice needed.
My blazer came without a console.
Anyone got a black one for sale in good condition? Is it even possible to lock the stock console? I have looked at the LMC aftermarket one in the catalog and am not really interesed in it. Since I want to keep my roof off as much as possible I want to be able to lock it. Anyone got pictures of consoles that lock whether it be stock, out of something else, homemade or bought at a 4x4 shop? Just want ideas. Thanks

Tuffy (http://www.tuffyproducts.com) makes some nice, secure consoles. You can even add a rear cup holder for the people in the back seat. However, they don'tlook stock.
I've never seen anyone adapt a lock to the stock console, but it would be nice. You can get locks for the glove box. ChevyDuty used to sell a complete lock set - doors, ignition & glove box, but I'm not sure if they still do.

Hmmm, does your glovebox lock? Mine does, just a thought, if you are wanting it to lock for things such as C/D players, Tuffy is the only way to go, I personally like the stock look, so mine won't have much in it.

My glovebox lock arrived yesterday and is in the locksmith today to get it keyed the same as the ignition. (one less key to lose) I did looked at the Tuffy ones and they look secure but definately not as nice looking as the factory ones. I had a guy I know make me a stainless steel gas tank for under my 71 C/10 as I could not find one to fit. He charged me $300 and did a great job so I might get him busy again. Still trying to decide. Although the Coleman in the picture is handy, I will probably go a different way.

Have him make you a SS locking insert for an OE console?
P.S. If he does, hook me up since it was my idea, and if you didn't know it already, I am a SS freak, just read about it on my link.

Nice idea about the insert.
I am going to get him to do some other SS interior work done in the next couple of months. A bit of designing is needed first. Can't tell you what just in case the project fails. Will have pics if it works out. He made a SS overhead console for his 46 Pontiac that was beautiful. By the way, Nice Blazer you built.

Jamie,
Can I see a picture of the holes in the front you mentioned and also one inside with the lid open. I have only seen this type of consoles in pictures as these blazers are rare where I am. I think I am interested in it. It can be painted to match my interior right?
