C20 brake booster on a C10?
I just installed a brake booster on my 71 c10...but I think the booster is from a c20 truck which appears to be bigger....Will the bigger booster damage my brake system?.....Thx

That looks like a 1/2 ton unit to me.

I think Longhorn is right, that is a C-10 booster.

That looks like a 71-2 dual diaphram 3/4T DB booster, to me. It will work OK, but not with that 1/2T MC. You need to run the correct matching 3/4T MC so the throw/rod will push it in correctly.

I stand correctd, and realized why I made the mistake... I'm thinking 70 and older....drum/drum stuff where the 3/4 ton/one ton booster is not as large in diameter and much much deeper as viewed from the front.

I looked at the picture and thought the booster was not thick enough but it is a C-20 and as PICKMUP said it needs the right master cylinder.
Here is a pic of what it should look like, (this is on our C-10 and works great). Jim |
