Headlight Keep Burning out. Help
Well I nearly got stranded last night 1 1/2 hours from home with out headlights. The night before the drivers blew out I just did not worry about it. I kinda noticed that there were no lights ahead of me so I said to my girlfriend I dont think my lights are working. She says why dont you pull over and check ?. I knew I better figure out whats wrong. So I pulled over and about 1 minute later a guy who had seen me at a show earlier pulled over just to see what happned. He owns a purple 50's pannel on AIR laying body. It's been featured in Street Trucks it's perfect. Anyways we went to Walmart and they sold everything but round lights. We ended up going back to his shop and he had the old lights from the pannel and one from a hot rod they are building they bolted right in.
On the way home the pass side bulb pops. Any ideas why ? I have a original headlight switch and a new cheep high low beam switch. Could either of these parts be a problem ? All the wiring is setup right. Thanks for any help.

what do you mean bulb popped. went out or popped(busted).Put a meter on your charging system.see how high your system is charging. could be a faulty regulator. Is the battery boiling over thru the caps?check the dimmer switch that you replaced to be sure the connections or wires are not grounding out to the floorboard.check the connections for tightness.get some die electric spray and spray inside of the head light socket connectors.

The bulbs turn BLACK. I will check the voltage at the headlight.

Regulator. Mine did the same thing. Blew a few bulbs before I figured it out.
Nice truck by the way. Darren
