I had a 69 LB fleetside and I ordered a check mate cover for it. It fit well and had nice options(light, barrel key locks). The finish was ok, took lots of prep work and 4 coats of filler primer and 3 coats of color to cover the fiberglass look.(does that make since)

Gaylord on mine also. One piece, no leaks, light and carpet on lid inside. Has pull straps and gas shocks double locks. Can't beat it. Last edited by gator2511; 08-15-2005 at 10:14 AM. |

Here is the best price that I found on the Gaylords. $740.95 - $799.95 + $150 shipping.
http://www.autoanything.com/products...6&v_id=1788032 Too bad we couldn't do a "Group Buy" cause I'd take advantage of it in a heart beat. Any one have good sales/buying techniques????

I had a soft checkmate one on my 96 silverado and was also not overly impressed. It works but i had to reinforce the frame of it because it was too weak and also the thing just never fit right. i have no experience with the hard ones though.
Also i am looking for a reasonable priced flush mount hard tonneau for my 72 swb. If anyone has a good recommendation that would be great.
