if the connectors are corroded and the wires are OK, a neat trick I learned is spray them with ether, that's right, ether. It will polish the brass in short order. WARNING!!!make sure the ether is dry before connecting and trying to engergize!!!!! If you decide to go with a push button, I'd make sure you get at least a 15 amp switch.
