292 HEI Distributor???

I need some advice from one of you Inline gurus! I have a 292 in my '67 C-30, and I have HEI distributor in a '75 C-10 with a 250. Will the 250 HEI distributor fit my 292, or do I need a later model 292 distributor? Thanks!!

From what I gathered when I was puttering around trying to find out if I had the right one, that should work fine.

Hei from any straight six of the 194/230/250/292 will work. All you have to do is drop it in and set the timing.

A good forum is www.inliners.org . There is also a book written by Leo Santucci on upgrading this series, especially the 292. It's advertised at inliners, also available from the major online bookstores.

Thanks for the info. I'm not really looking to do anything besides make it a little more reliable, and I already have all the stuff. It is the engine that is currently in my 67 C-30, but I have just about decided to put my 67 C-30 body on a newer chassis. I was going to build it on the original chassis and just replace the eng/trans/rear, but after driving this truck around it, would be ashame to junk all the stuff since it runs/drives/brakes so well. I have a 70 Chevy and a 71 GMC Cab and front clip that are both very nice, and I'm thinking now that I will just drop one of those bodies on this chassis, and end up with two 1 tons -- like I need another project!
