My after market door sill plates don't fit right. The back is okay, and the screw holes line up. But the front "extension" that curves up comes out over the outside of the door weatherstrip.
Is this just me, or has anyone else had this problem? Do I try to bend it back or should I just cut it off?
I tried switching them from one side to the other. No difference.

I don't know, but if they piss u off enough u could give them to a fellow Iowan

just took mine out Paul, they slide UNDER the weatherstripping.

i just bought some from lmc and they fit ok. but they arent as good as the original ones. just shinier. who'd you buy them from?

We stock the G.M. NOS sill plates still in the G.M. packaging if interested, I have not seen the aftermarket sill plates. Are they pretty good quality?

Have had several sets of aftermarket sill plates. They work OK but you need to "carefully form" the curved ends to line up with the rubber weatherstripping on both the front and rear. They hold the weatherstripping into the corners so that when your big feet kink into the weatherstripping getting in or out, it stays put. They seem to be generic with regard to left side or right side. I have used some paint to seal the undeside of them so they don't rust as quickly. Currently in use 4 years with no problems. Believe I paid like $25. a pair---came with bowtie, GMC etc. Stainless screws were included.
