No such thing as big block motor mounts for a 4X4 Chevy/GMC from 1967 to 1972. WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com

Big Block Motor Mounts in 4X4

I hate to say this, But I have a set of 67 to 71 style mounts in my pick up.
Not factory though. It took a lot of work & I had to make a fixture to make sure everything was in alignment, But I mated a set of 4X4 mounts & big block mounts together. A little cutting & a lot of welding & grinding & they look like factory big block 4X4 motor mounts. I've had a 427 in my truck for about 35 years now & everytime I would look at the small block mounts, they would be in 2 pieces. I have now put an end to that.

You can also bolt an engine crossmember out of a 73 and newer 4X4 then use the big block mounts. WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com

BB Motor mounts in 4X4

Thanks for the info Wes. Next time I wouldn't have to waste so much energy. But I do like my mounts. Another thing I did years ago was to double flange the engine X member on both sides just below where the two pieces bolt together. I don't have to jack motor up and pull X member to drop the pan. Just unbolt 3 bolts on both sides of the U shaped piece at the bottom of the X member and the pan will come right out.
