Need Picture of Stock BB radiator recovery bottle - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I purchased a stock cap for the radiator recovery bottle and it wont work on the bottle in BB , so I need a pic . of the top with the cap off ,and the cap if someone can help.

There was no overflow bottle. Only dealer installed units.

So there is a good chance these bottles are different from Region to Region ?

exactly.
In all reality, they could differ from dealer to dealer.

pic of NOS one and a top..I believe this is correct..I have one and I'm pretty sure it looks like this one of which I had a pic stored.
There is only one spout out the bottom of the tank on the correct truck ones. They show these in the owners manuals in the dealer option section at back...well there is in my 72 GMC manual anyway..I know not all year manuals show this dealer option.

ROD ; Thanks ,the bottle looks just like mine but I have a different top .and the exit is thru the cap on top .

Yep... I know what your talking about Bill72..here are 2 of mine. The right one is the correct one..it has a spout on top off to the forward edge...and one spout for the tube out the bottom..the other left one is newer and has no spout out the bottom and has a dual tube out the cap set up.

Had the time to go take a pic of them together to show a comparision.

Rod; I'm going to have to pull my bottle and see if someone plugged the bottom hole , it looks like the one that is real thick and has the cap with no outlet .
I am thinking someone just stuck a different cap on it and plugged the hole .
