Gauge cluster

Will a gauge cluster listed as a 73-80 fit in an 84 GMC. Looking to install a tach and would prefer a stock one. Thanks

No, 1978-up only (1976-77 will work, just not bolt in). The cluster font also won't match your current cluster font as 1/2Ts after 1981 didn't get them. If it is listed as a 1973-1980 cluster, they are just making a sell. There are 3 splits. 1973-1975, 1976-1977, 1978 - up. Make sure it works.

Chris-
You wouldn't happen to have pics of the different years and font styles would you? This question gets asked a lot, and I can never remember all the differences....

Chris, what trucks do those fit into? I Currently have the one with the big gas gauge but would like to change it to one with a tach. Can this be done on the 84 GMC? Thanks for any help

Cool, that's a start. I cleaned them up a bit and resized them. You want to tag them again, and I'll save them to file. We need to get crossy in here and put together the write up he has with your pics and info so we have a complete page to link to for future refference....

..and here is the article Dave (Crossy) wrote about tachs. There is also a few pics in there illustrating the differences.
