I have a parts truck that has really nice original belts. I want to put them in my truck. I don't know how to get the plastic cover off? I don't want to break it and I know it will come off.

With all mine I just extended the belt out a little and pulled the plastic the plastic cover straight out (toward the buckle end). It came with no problems, but maybe it was broken?? On a few sets this is all I have had to do.

Does anyone make new covers for the retractors?

You have to spread the bottom of the plastic housing outward as you pull up on the housing. It is not easy to do if the housing is hard and not flexable. I have have some come off instantly, others have taken 10-15 minutes of wiggling and pulling. (boy that last sentence almost sounds nasty...)
