Little Help with a Purchase
I'm proboly going to buy this truck this week. Now I havent looked at it yet but here is what I know; 1969 C10, straight 6 250, 3 spd manual. Now what else do y'all think. what else do you see. Is it possible that this could be a 4x4 or maybe have ps and pb. I havent talked with this guy yet but I know that it is still availible. The price is just right at $300 considering the way the body looks. Any help guys?

Not a 4X4, but if it runs and drives, it might be a good winter beater.

Maybe I'm wrong, but it doesn't look like a 4X4 to me. With no gauges and factory 250/3 on the tree, PS and PB are doubtful. It seems to well worth $300 for a running SWB though!

Welcome to the Board from Sacramento CA.
Looks like a 69/70, 2WD, manual shift on the floor (not stock), no AC, electric gauges (or whatever they are called), aftermarket stereo, the body has had a rough life, aftermarket wheels, sliding rear window,...if it starts, runs and does not cost much to register, it is well worth $300. What are your plans for it?

Does anybody else see the column shifter to be broken otherwise I dont see the shifter on the column unless the steering wheel is hiding it. I didnt think this was a 4x4 and being that there wasnt a vin listed and didnt ask for it in the email I'm not sure what to expect. I'm kinda leary on the whole 250 motor but was thinking that it would get better mileage than my 71 with the 350 in it. Does anybody have a guess on the rear end ration for it? Also what's the deal with the gvwr rating painted on the side of it? Thanks for the help guys and keep it comin.

Tomatocity, thanks for the belated welcome. Anyway this one will be my worker. I'm gonna leave it mostly the way it is. I'll put some flowmasters on it and probobly get the carb rebuilt and slap one of the intakes I have on it and run it.

a 250 with a 3 speed would be a 3.73 rear. If you look on the pic of the dash, you can see the nub for the original shifter.
I wondewr what that chrome do-dad is under the dash over the drivers left knee. |

Andy, what would a possible shift pattern be if they moved the shifter to the floor? I'm thinkin that this truck has maybe bee molested a little. But a 7000 gvwr would be right for this truck?

1 3 Your standard 3 speed, just on the floor.

I wondewr what that chrome do-dad is under the dash over the drivers left knee. [/QUOTE] looks like an aftermarket choke cable setup to me, some states require GVW listed on farm trucks, 7k is too much tho,,should be closer to 5 on a 1/2 ton. Brian |

I vote the chrome "doo-dad" is a manual choke pull installed by an owner. EW 7000? Maybe if they weighted rust by the pound

Palf is right - shifter is on the floor, you can see the knob in the pics.
I notice the bed is jacked nearest the cab and both front and back look like they had an impact. Check the frame horns closely for cracks and bends.

If the frame is reasonably straight and it runs/drives and will pass inspection $300 sounds fine.
Beat it around then sell the parts for $500 .. lol
