another question
how do you use the shim kit that comes with a starter,it looks pretty close, i know its supposed to be pretty close, it comes with a rod, i have heard this is how you test it, how do you use the rod that comes with it

With the gear out there should be enough room to put a jim clip (or this rod) between the peak of the gear on the starter and the valley of a gear on the flexplate.

i was always told that it was between the shaft that the gear slides on and the peak of the teeth on the flywheel or flexplate.
