need some help with rear bumper installation

ok here's the situation. my truck came originally with a step bumper. i want to install the aftermarket rear chrome sport bumper. it appears that there arent any holes to install the new brackets to the frame. does anyone know approximately where i need to drill the holes? any help or pics would be great. btw the truck is fleet side and has coils if that helps any. thanx

I have a 72 chevy truck and on it measuring from the end of the frame the first hole is 1" 1/4 and the second hole is 6" 1/4 if that will help you good luck. Brian

Huh?
When I took my step bumper off and went to install my chrome one, the holes were the same. I don' think it took an hour start to finish. How is your step bumper mounted?

hmmmm. then i must not have a stock step bumper then. i ordered the rear kit and the bracket that came with it doesnt have any corresponding holes on the frame. does anyone have pictures? i am trying to mount the brackets with C clamps to get an idea of where i need to drill. but the bumper just doesnt sit quite right. it just looks like it needs to be more flush with the bed. sigh.
