Cool score, maybe.
This is what I was doing when I broke my bell crank today. A guy had a power steering unit that might fit on my boat and I went down to look at it. He blew up this Mercruiser I6 in his boat and decided to switch over to a V8. We got to talking and he said I could have all this I6 stuff if I hauled it off right then and there.
He says this motor only has a couple hours on a rebuild. He blew it up and then rebuilt it and then blew it up again. Turns out his water pick-up pump was bad. If nothing else, I got a real nice aluminum valve cover for my motor, and side covers. He thought it is a 250, I think it's a 230. I have not ran the numbers yet, but the sticker on the valve cover says 160 HP, so I think it might have some good stuff inside. The #5 piston has a hole right in the top center, like way to hot a spark plug maybe.
