Service manual for a 68 GMC?

Is there any place to find a real service manual, I have one for my 48 jeep, its really nice, details almost everything, even step by step to removing and rebuilding engine. I am not sure where to find something like this, and I mean for a GMC, the chevy is the same, but its not the same , I want to find one that has the rebuilding guide for the v-6 if anyone knows a company with some nice manuals I'd really appreciate it

I have a 70 Chevy truck manual no V6 info but I think they had stopped the V6's by then. I don't know about earlier service manuals, but the factory assembly manual I have is for 67-72 Chevy & GMC. Not sure if they combined the service manuals or not.

I bought one on ebay a while back for my '67 GMC even though the manual is a for a '68. I'll look when I get home, I know it covers the V6 engine but I don't remember seeing a rebuild guide. Could be wrong... the part number you need is X-6832

For on-vehicle service information you need the manual that vortexofpain has listed. There is a separate overhaul manual if you want rebuild information. The one that I have is X-6A-01, printed July of 1967 and it covers the 305C, 305E, 351C, 351E, 351M, 401M and 478M V-6s. It also covers the 637 V-8.

Give Faxon Auto Literature a call @ 1-800-458-2734. They are in Riverside, Calif.
I just bought one for my '67 GMC from them last month.

I have copies of the manual BobS is talking about. $15 mailed to you. PM me if interested. Lets keep these V6's on the road.
