Help Me Identify This Distributor
I had an HEI Delco-Remy distributor in my truck. I'm having trouble getting the right cap and rotor. Stamped on the side are the numbers 10338 or 1103381. Also 9D24. I had to play with the advance weights to get any advance so I decided to replace the whole thing with a Mallory Street HEI. Bad problems now with starting. (sometimes) I'm going back to the old distributor and get parts to fix it but I really don't know where it came from. If you Guys can help I could use it. Sometimes you try to do something really the right way and it just doesn't work?

Pontiac used an HEI distributor that looked like all of the others. The only difference is it was reverse rotation. That might not have ne thing to do with your problem though.

A Pontiac dist wouldn't fit in his small block though. Can you post a pic for us?
The 9D24 is a date cose I do believe... 1979, may 24th. |

I should have deleted the post, sorry. Nobody was responding so I thought it was forgotten. I found the de-code secret on a corvette sight so it was a indeed a April 24, 1979 distributor. I'm sure it was Chevy. I bought parts for it and its now happily running in my 72. Thanks for not forgetting me.
