stock flr on 22's

I just bought a 72 1/2 ton sub. I am planning on s/flooring it on 22's. I have heard that I have to raise the x-member and z the frame. If this is true how much do I need to do. Also can it be done with the stock arms if not does anybody know anyone who can build them for me? I would greatly appreciate any answers or pics. I build custom cars on the side so I have some experience but I have never messed with this old of a chevy. Also can I use the 73 and up spindles on my sub, reason is they are alot cheaper than the 72 model spindles. Also bill at extensive in houston told me that I can use my stock ladder bars to lay out but I would have to beef them up a little.

i would first say scroll through the suspension section, making sure to read the 20+ page "crossmember drop" as well as the "frame z" post. I have a 65 panel that will lay out on a 20/22 combo, sporting a 4" z, 3" spindles, stock upper and lower a-arms, 10" step notch on the stock trailing arms needing 2" blocks to lay on 22's. i lay rocker. read up on here for a few nights for about 4 hrs a night, then get back to us on those questions, k. GOod luck.

I have a 63 suburban that I call "Shortbus"- It lays out on 20, but could lay out on 22's I have a 245-40 on the front and a 295-40 in the rear. You need to do a crossmember drop of 1.25" and if you do my custom control arms you could lay out. You don't need to body drop these. Only need to shorten up the bushings. You can lay out on your stock links but I like the 4 link. I got the stock bars. I will take pics of my setup when I get finished with it. Also go to crossmember drop post and you can see the crossmember you need.
