Any body got pics of 99 or newer seats in a 67-72? Any info or advice on installation would be good also. There was an article in Classic Trucks a while back, but I can't find that issue.

I'm considering buying a set and would like some info.

I put some late model seats in mine. Worked nice. I just modified the center jump seat mount some(So it would sit a tad lower than the other two so my clip boards and other junk wouldn't slide around), the other two we just drilled holes in the floor and backed the underside with 3" washers I made so they couldn't pull through the floor. Worked great and they are sure comfy.

Those intrepid seats look good. I've had my eye on some 300m seats, chrysler seats just look good imo. Did you just drill holes to make them fit or did you make some type of adapter mount?

Hey Matt,

When you say 99 and newer I'm assuming you mean Chevrolet Truck with the integrated seatbelts. Here's a pic of mine when they were just sitting in the cab. I actually just go done bolting them down yesterday. I put them in the cab and straightened them out and marked the holes and drilled. Got some 3 inch grade 8 bolts, washers, lock washers, and nuts. I had one of the fabricating shops here in town give me some steel that I put under the cab and marked and drilled so the bolts would slide through and bolted them down. It sounds easy and probably is for someone with a brain(not me). I kept having to burr out the holes in the steel because i was off.

One thing to think of because I know you are a big guy(me too, except you have height) is to collapse the steering shaft to give you several more inches.

I'll try to get some pics of mine this week. I'm trying to get it done for the local show here on Saturday so I'll have some good pics by this weekend.

Drilled holes for the rear mounts and used some uni-strut 90 degree brackets on the front (drilled holes there too). Used some 3/8" flat stock under the floor as big washers.

Thanks Brian(sp?). That's what I was looking for.

Did you have to modify the middle jump seat brackets? I know they need to be ground off a little on th 60-66 models.

Yes, I got the sawsall out and cut off the back corner of both sides. You'll know which side to cut off when you place them down to mark them.

I'll try to get you a pic this weekend of the finished product.

What are you trying to say, Bryan? Just 'cause I'm 6'4"-300 doesn't mean anything.

j/k I'll have to try that, but with my tilt column, I can only go about 2" tops before the bell hits the guage panel. Do you think that will be enough?

I have a '92 Cheyenne bench now that sat me closer to the wheel than the stock bench. It's not too bad for now. Do you think the newer seats will move me even closer?

I found a set of seats, but they're like an hour and a half away from where I live and work. Kind-of hard to go pick em up during a lunch break. I hope to get them Saturday. Are they hard to find there? I've been looking for about two weeks before I finally found these guys.

I can't wait to get 'em!!!

djracer, The salvage yard is asking 250 for them. There is a guy locally that sells them for 400. He just buys them from junkyards and resells them at a profit. The ones I'm getting are gray velour

Bowtie Man-Go to the FAQ board and there's a thread there about How to Install a Tilt. In that thread it shows how to collapse the shaft. I could have NEVER got into my truck if I didn't do this, especially with these new seats.

I Put A Set Of Buckets With Fold Dowm Jump Seat Out Of A 04 Silverado In My 70.best Thing I Ever Did.they Have Integrated Seat Belts And Way More Comfort That Original Bench Or Buckets.it Seems All Newer Seats Set Out Farther So You Will Have To Collapse The Steering Shaft And Slide Your Column In Farther For More Room,easy Task. I Installed A Van Tilt And Collapsed The Shaft And Now I Could Get King Kong In There.the Pictures I Have Are To Big For This Site Or I Would Post Them.send Me Your Email And I Will Send Them If You Want.
