s10 seat belts, how to remove????

hey you all... found a set of S10 seatbelts and i cant seem to feigure out how to remove the retractor mechanism from the cab floor bottom... how have those of you that have removed them before done this... i can get the female buckle out easy (torx bit) but please fill me in ont he rest... the help is much appreciated...

i gota believe someone has taken these out b4, not to be panicky, but im going back to the yard tomorrow and these seatbelts are black and mint... but i looked at them yesterday and i cant find the top of the bolt that goes through the floor... i did take off the female buckles and that was a metric torx bolt, but i dont see the head of a bolt/screw underneath the retractor mechanisms...help pleeeeeeeeze!!!!

Hey what year truck do you think you are looking at and I will email you some schematics of how to remove them. I work for a chevrolet dealer.

If they are the mid 80's style if I remember right the bolt is under the carpet on the outside. John

they are both 87's black interiors and pretty nice... when i looked under the truck i could swear that the bolts are directly under the retracor mechanism.. at first i thought that there was a factory nut under the cab, but nope its round and is part of the reinforcement plate welded to the cab floor... wish i had pics guys but didnt have the camera with thursday... schematics will always help...

s10 belts

Here is a picture of the drivers side I got out of an s10 (couldn't tell you what year).

I am going to install these in my truck if I ever get my rear end in gear.

On the 93 S-10 that I pulled my belts out of the single torx head bolt that holds each retractable belt in was under the step plate. Removing the step plates made easy access to the bolts.

Our service manual on the web does not go back that far to 1987, it starts in 1998. Sorry I could not be of help

well i did get one set out today.. thanks for the info!!!...the other set was not so freindly, so i am going ot ask if i can cut the floor to get the retractor part out... minnesota rust got tot the two bottom bolts and they stripped out.. bummer, but nothing a hole saw and sawzall wont fix!!!!... thanks again
