Where to get new seats?

Where would I begin to look for seats? Preferrably a 40/60 out of a mid 90's chevy.

Junk yards, e-bay, swap meets are the best bet.

Check out shops in your area that do truck customization and interior work. Often they will have pull-outs stored in the back room from trucks they've put custom seats in. I found a good selection that way, and the prices can be haggled, based on limited investment by the shop owner.

I used a 60/40 seat out of a 1999 chevy truck. I had to add a spacer to one of the brackets and drill some holes. But it was pretty easy. I sit a little closer to the sterring wheel but I am alot more comfortable. It even has an ajustable lumbar support. I picked it up at a local junk yard.

They're hot commodities - There's only three junk yards around this area that I know of and they never have any - guess I'll start looking a lil further out.

On one of the trucks I built I used a new take out from a 2001 Ford F150. It came close to bolting right in. I suggest you take all of the pertinent measurements and take them with you. That's how I came across this one at an auction. We used to be able to get new take outs from places like Choo Choo Customs when they did their custom interiors. Now they get their new trucks straight from the factory minus the stock seats. I know someone looking for a stock seat. Too bad you are not closer.

I found the magazine in my drawer at work. It's the AUG/04 edition of Classic Trucks. I don't have a scanner but I guess I could photocopy it & send it to whomever needs it. PM me your address & I'll make it happen.

Try www.car-part.com and you can enter what you are looking for in there and search in your area for any salvage vendors that have what you are looking for. Goodluck.
