The box, which I thought was crooked turned out to be pretty straight, the diagonals were even, when I measured them.

I noticed that the first crossmember behind the rear axle is crooked, look at the picture. It's riveted in, is it supposed to be like that? and Why?

Thanks Jared

Yup it is supposed to be crooked, I think it is that way to stop side to side flexing of the frame, like a cross diagonal cross brace. Are you getting the frame powdercoated?

Yah I'm pretty sure I will get the frame powdercoated just as soon as I get all of the undercoating and grease off of it. Any ideas about a good cheaper method of getting the gunk off. I don't really want to buy $50 of degrease, wonder if oven cleaner works?

Your really moving along nicely. You have come this far, you might as well get the frame, rear end and suspention components sand blasted. I got all of mine sandblasted for under 200 bucs.
GOOD LUCK!!!!

Plumbers torch and a small putty knife works good on open areas, Oven cleaner would prolly be just as much $$$ as degreaser, superclean works good.
