Collector Gaskets?
Anybody found any luck with some good thick collector gaskets? My driver side keeps leaking on me. The flange looks good and it's tight all the way around. I've been using aluminum 1/8" thick gaskets you get at O'Rilley's and they will last for a few days but then keep leaking. Anybody got a solution of another gasket other than welding them up?

I got the grey paper with metal inside and never had a problem, even reused them once. Another option is cuttin off the flange and using a big slip clamp like they use on Big trucks

I've had those when I first mounted the headers and didn't last too long. Then I went to these and lasted for a long time but just in past few weeks been getting worse.

Is there another reason they keep leaking? Maybe you have an exhaust mount that is broken causing excessive flex in the system....

I use the Percy gaskets all around, Flowtech dead soft aluminum are the same thing. If I remember right the collector flange gaskets were $18 at Advanced and they come with new bolts.

Use FELPRO collector gaskets, double up the gaskets and coat them with "CopperCoat" gasket sealer. The sealer will give a coating that makes them seal and last longer.

I've thought about doubling up but the trouble is that it's hard to get one in there and even harder to double up but I may have to if the flex is not the problem.
