Can anyone offer any suggestions for removing windshield scratches made due to a broken wiper blade?

The thumnail rule referanced in the link is true. I have a 4" wool buff that is used with a common drill motor and the silica abrasive. Bought em from JC Whitney. http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/P...roup?Ntt=glass I have had very good success with older cars/trucks (60's-70's) and a few 90's+ cars. Usually windshield wiper scratches. Some glass does distort as mentioned and all mirrors will

. So test it out in a small area before you go crazy with it. The older cars seem to do better. Slow rpm works the best. I use a 500rpm air drill.

I like the product. The glass allways looks better than when I started, even if all of the scratch won't come out. It is also outstanding for removing water stains. Do the rain-ex thing to slow down new accumulations. Had the tool for about 5 years now. All in all, a good investment.

I had my car polished recently while having some dents pulled. The guy also polished my windows with the same car polish. The windshield looked much better.
