cd changer question

Will a cd changer fit in that passenger side space behind the seat?

if you have a stock bench it should be fine under a seat.

I have a ten-disc Sony and it fits in the jack space (passenger-side cab corner) just fine in the vertical position. I'm building a bracket that will bolt into place where the jack retaining clip and spring are mounted to hold the changer level. Right now it is just sitting in a nest of clean rags and there is plenty of room.

Yeah, and I was surprised too.
I wired it when I put in my carpet and insulation and then I made a stable little nest of rags to keep it from bouncing around just to see if that is where I would want to mount it permanently. Everything works really well, no skips and all I have to do is pull the seat forward and push the "release" button and the CD cartridge ejects straight up toward the roof. On Sunday I took out the rags and made some measurements for a bracket I need to build to hold it in place. I'm thinking I'll mount a bracket to the two holes in the floor that hold the little jack bracket, but if it isn't secure enough I can weld a brace on the bracket that will extend to the back of the door where the large phillips-head screw holds the large jack spring behind the door.
