New Farm Truck!!

Picked this pickup up on sat. and finally had time to get pics. Let me know what ya think and what is it worth? Also, the cab is all original, that means those are the original rockers and cab corners. And this is a 120,000 mile farm truck!!

I am glad the farmer made a home-made grille guard

For a farm truck it doesnt appear to be overly abused....not like the ones on the horse farms around here. The rockers and corners are CLEAN! Price?? I'd figure somewhere around $2,000?? Am I close?

Heck, I'd drive to ND to find one of those. Just think about those southern guys. They would part that truck out because there is just too much rust on the floor to warrent saving it.

nice find, Doug. I've personally seen this truck in person, she's a nice rig there. (I wish mine would be all nice and all original like that, not all shambled together, right Doug?)

Nice old truck. Looks like she's never seen salt. That brush guard looks like it might be one of the original dealer-installed versions.

On second look it does look more home-made.

We do, and yes, some winters are pretty harsh (although when concerning a truck which you would give half a dang about, most probably are harsh, unless you have a heated garage and another vehicle to drive, that is) but the thing is, unlike some other states, we up here in North Dakota use way more gravel on our roads than salt (which we use rather little of), which means they rust very little, unlike some places which use more salt than gravel (either a ploy to help the body shops, or just plain stupidity). I assume up there, you guys use salt? Maybe at least more salt than we do?

Yes, salt is used quite a bit here. Are there many trucks in ND in similar condition to yours, or is this farm truck an abnormality?

I would agree with 68350, it is rather rare to see a farm truck with so little rust (brings to mind my grampa's 69 F-100, that thing is about as rusty as.... a hunk of iron in a salt bed in the rain, that thing is horrid), although around here a fairly-maintained farm truck probably wouldn't have more than the standard rust under the battery (which that truck 68350's has, but not too bad) the rockers and cab corners, plus the floor. Overall, the ole' farm truck of mine isn't too rusty, certainly it's probably average for around here, but at least it ain't as bad as some of the salt-road trucks I hear about.
