How do rear roll pans mount on our trucks?
Fiberglass or steel.

I don't think that you need brackets to use a rollpan on the back, I do know that in the front you have to cut some of the frame to make the front rollpan fit (so no bumper brackets on front)

It seems like it would need support in the center.

Rear pan installation
A steel rear pan generally attaches to the rear sill under the tailgate with screws and also is attached to the bedsides under the tailgate hinges by either welding or by screws and a small bracket. http://www.mar-k.com/rear_pan_installation.html and http://www.mar-k.com/rear_pans.pdf The Mar-K pan also requires notching the rear sill to provide clearance for the tag "box" because it is recessed about 2" and needs the opening cut in the rear sill for clearance. The bumper brackets must be removed as they interfere with the pan location. Once the pan is screwed to the rear sill and attached to the bedsides it is quite stable and should not need additional support.
