My 72 caught on fire PART 2

Okay guys I want to thank everybody for there support. I cleaned up the cab and I saw that it really wasn’t that bad.

So now I really need some help. I need a gas tank, I was thinking of putting a fuel cell in the bed.
I really have no clue to start. I looked at jegs and summit and I saw so fuel cells but have no clue what kind of fuel pump I need. Just to recap I have a 91 TPI motor. Does anyone know where I can get a whole set up pretty cheap? I plan on covering the bed with a bed cover so I am really not that concerned about looks, I figured this would probably be the easiest way to do it. Would it make any difference it I mount under the bed or in the bed? So I know where to get the fuel cell but just really don’t know what in the tank fuel pump to get.

Any help would be great. Thanks.

Here is my truck getting towed to paint shop

Glad to see your fixing your truck back up. I used a 67-72 blazer, suburban tank in my 72. I bought mine from Outback Truck Parts for about 250.00, came with straps & sending unit. As far as fuel pump, I have a 97 vortec 350 in mine & I used a frame mounted pump out of a 79 cad. deville.

A Blazer/Burb tank would go under the bed, they just aren't pretty enough to put it the bed. You can get a Polished aluminum fuel cell from Summit, they have mounts at the bottom so you can bolt it inside the bed and it wouldn't look bad at all. (make sure that you put a sticker with the message board logo on it)

Great to hear your getting it back on the road. It looks like your truck is coming home from the paint shop not heading there, lol. A polished fuel cell would look cool in the box, but I think I'd mount it between the frame rails at the rear. Just a couple of things to remember you may have to reroute your exhaust (it looks like you have it dumping out the rear already) and you might want to run a trailer hitch later on so you may want to take that into consideration for clearances if you go that route. tank

I think it looks better and is harder to savatage if you put the tank under the bed. then you could have then neck come out where ever convient for you. also we have a hidden hitch on our truck so it will still fit with some modification.
