Im Going To Cry
i recently got in a lil trouble with the law and need to come up with money for an attorney. the truck is the only way i can think of a way to come up with it. can anyone tell me how much i could get outta my truck. its a 69 GMC 3/4 ton with a mild built 396. Its kinda rough but not very scale of 1 -10 10 being really bad. id rate it a 3 or 4. a prior owner had did a cheap resto on it and used cheap paint that is now fading and sum surface rust. rocker panels are the only rusted through spots.

I had a '68 C20 here I was trying to get 4.5K for. It needed paint, or a good buff job. It had a new 454 with lots of bling, new TH400, all new front end parts, all bushings replaced, brand new brakes, discs up front, new alloy rims, and tires, billet guage panel with autometer guages, all new weatherstiping (all of it) door panels, carpet, armrests, visors, front and rear bumpersdash pad, anything chrome, the whole nine yards, all new in box, uninstalled. It had a new, high end stereo system installed in it as well. All you needed was an afternoon in the cab to install the parts (once you painted cab) and you had a new truck. No cancer in the cab or fenders. Bed had seen better days on the floor, but fleetside beds are cheap. People who looked at it knew what it was worth, and knew I was sacrificing it, but they still would not buy the truck. Kept getting offered $1500-2000 for it, or lowball offers like $300 for engine. Finally found a buyer for it, had to give him every stinking new part LMC catalogs showed ever made for it, wound up gettin 4k. That just about covered the cost of the new unused, unopened parts I could have returned them and made more money if I wanted to deal with trying.
[edit] I know this doesnt help you in regards to the jam you are in, but I think you might be lucky to get what you paid for it. If its a running truck, you can get around 1K for it, anything more would be pushing your luck in my opinion.

It also depends if the truck is in Iowa or Pa. If it's got half a body it may be worth more in Pa.

I would sit on it for a few days and think it through. Chances are the sale of the truck will not pay for the cost of an attorney anyway. It would suck if you sold the truck and still were in the same jam.

Advertise it as "make offer". I saw one classified for a 1968 k20 that didn't run for 2500 The only way to really tell would be stopping by and looking at it. Looks like a good driving project/sleeper to me .

I can remember being young like you and doing crazy things. Do not really know what to tell you. You just have to do what you have to do. Hate to see you having to sell your truck. Good luck.

You might find a PD just as usefull as a cheap a$$ lawyer. You should investigate that angle before you pay some hack a mess of money to do nothing.
(when it comes to lawyers I guess you could say I've had a bad experiance...) Good lawyers cost major dollar$ My divorce cost a total of $7600.00 and that was with someone who works the numbers (low end divorce, bankruptcy, etc.)

You might want to look at how a conviction would affect any financial aid you might want to get. I know there is an issue of people having drug convictions, but I don't remember the details. |

I dont know the first thing about pricing project trucks. but you have to do what you have to do. just remember, think of the future. if ya need to sell it to get into college, to open your own shop, to have a happy family & solid future then that's what needs to be done. besides, later you may have a kicka$$ shop & be able to do another one. (BTW, stay away from drugs. please)
