WTB 68 Gas Tank, Austin TX

When I asked about cleaning the rust out of my tank, several members suggested that I try to find one from a member wha has converted to a blazer tank or fuel cell. So here I am...

Before I spend $80 to get my tank cleaned and $80 to get it sealed, does anyone have a decent/clean or already sealed tank that they want to part with?

Post here or PM me, thanks

I have one from a '71 , good shape, no rust and still has the sending unit and all the lines with it. Are you going to the Chickasha, Okla. swap meet in October south west of Ok. City? I could bring it with me as I will be there Friday and Saturday the 14th and 15th. Still a good road trip from Austin, Tx. but thought maybe a chance for ya'

Ironhorse and Tomatocity, these are great offers guys, but let me see if something a little closer comes up.

Hey Ratrod67,

My parents live south of Ft Worth. Do you think that tank is usable as it sits? If so, I might be interested.

Should be. Was pulled from a running and driving truck about 3 weeks ago. I can pull it out of the shed tomorrow and take a look inside just to be sure.

Please take a peek when you get a chance. There is a about a 99% chance that I will be at my parent's later this week or over the weekend.

There are a couple rust colored spots on the bottom of the tank. Might just be stains from varnished gas. Nothing scaly or flaking off. I poured just about all of the gas out and there was no trash floating around. Can't really see much but it looks good to me.

Cool. Thanks for checking on it. And thanks for the awesome offer. Let me think for a day on it. If I am going to take it or not, I'll PM you.

But if someone happens to see this thread and speaks up for the tank, then that is fine, too.
